Andia Winslow, Yale alumna and founder of The Fit Cycle, is both a Professional Golfer, Sports Performance Coach and a passionate master Certified Fitness Professional. She believes that “the best experiences are those that are shared” and has been recognized globally for her fitness activism in the creation of innovative movies that encourage heart health, proper consumption, injury prevention and total athletic development. Named a fitness contributor for American Heart Association and GoRedForWomen.org, Andia’s instructional content and viral fitness films have been called the “Smartest, Sexiest Workout Videos Ever” by Forbes, and selected for inclusion in the “National Wear Red Day” 10th Anniversary educational campaign. She was recognized as a “Top Innovator” and invited to speak at South by Southwest (SXSW) because of her work to empower real people to make real-time decisions about their lives. Her public speaking experience has included live event and TV broadcasting and clients range from Consumer Electronic Week to Walmart, Major League Baseball (MLB) to National Recreation and Parks Association.
A formidable competitor who mirrors her professional athlete relatives, Andia’s experience in fitness, as a profession, began as an elite athlete training with USA Track & Field under Jesse Owens Olympic Hall of Fame Coach Brooks Johnson. In April 2006, she became only the fourth African American to ever compete in a Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour (LPGA) event and has been called “the most athletic and fit woman in all of professional golf.” When not competing, Andia serves as a seasonal Golf Teaching Professional and Fitness Trainer at Chelsea Piers, the world renowned athletic and entertainment facility in New York City. She has been heralded as one of the “Hottest NYC Trainers” and coaches the highly popular DASH28 at Mile High Run Club. Her high intensity group classes including #ManhattanBeachWorkout and Aqua Cycling, have been reviewed as the “latest fitness craze(s)”. In addition, she was tapped by Black Ice Concept to compete for the USA Bobsled & Skeleton Federation. As a developmental athlete, Andia relocated to the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
As former Executive Director of Golf Professionals Making a Difference, a wellness advocate and ambassador for the Women’s Sports Foundation, Andia is committed to her work that encourages youth and adults to maintain healthy and active lifestyles. When not on the course, on the track, or in the gym, she can be found furthering her crafts as an artist, published author, philanthropist and working fitness and commercial model.
