As a pro athlete and filmmaker, I’ve always been inspired by movement. Movement of the human body — movement of images. Kinetic storytelling is what motivates me. Of late, though, I’ve come to understand and harness the power of voice.
The tendency to talk to and answer myself aloud, and in character, led to the most useful birthday gift I’ve received in years: voice over lessons. Intrigued by the craft and committed to expanding my range, I listened to online demos, watched TV only to focus on the commercials and struck up conversations with strangers on the subway to hear accents and tone. What started as a hobby is now a profession. True story!
